Americans for Tax Reform analyzed Obama administration budgets for fiscal years 2010-2015. The 442 proposed increases don't include the 20 tax increases signed into law under ObamaCare.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) went “On The Record” tonight to discuss the report. She said history shows that cutting taxes leads to economic growth.
“Whether it’s Democrat or Republican, if we can cut taxes, if we can have a solid dollar, if we can check government spending and check government regulation, that’s your formula for success,” she said. “Unfortunately, Barack Obama’s doing just the opposite. He’s wanting to increase taxes, he has a loose money policy, he’s growing government spending and he’s growing government regulation. That’s why we have problems today.”
Greta Van Susteren asked if the tax code will change in her lifetime. Bachmann said yes, but we need a conservative Senate and a “pro-growth president.”
